The Lawn Tennis Association buy four Climate Cover Systems
The Lawn Tennis Association is the proud new owner of four Climate Cover Systems to assist with the maintenance of four grass tennis courts. Following the trial of varying water proof covering systems, which was completed by the LTA in the summer of 2008, the Climate Cover System™ was selected.
The final design was discussed in detail and included an inflatable tube for each cover and protection sleeves hung at the side of the court. Inflation tubes are used to aid the rapid deployment and retraction of the covers and enable a minimum number of groundstaff to use them. The protection sleeves protect the cover and tidy up the side of the court and also provide a great space for branding.
The four covers are being used at the National Tennis Centre, not only to improve the maintenance of the grass courts, but also to increase the number of playing hours available as the covers protect the courts from the rain.
Head Groundsman Jason Steadman said ‘The new Climate Cover System™ has meant that I can cover a court quickly without the assistance of others. I have never used a cover that is so easy to deploy and retract. The way the system works saves me a lot of hard work but more importantly enables us to get play started without delays”.
